You can become a surrogate for prospective parents who you already know or for ones you've only just met. You can be a surrogate for a male couple, a male-female couple or for a single prospective father or mother. 

You can become a surrogate in an IVF or high-tech surrogacy process using an egg from the intended mother or an egg donor. Or you can be simultaneously a surrogate mother and an egg donor in a traditional or low-tech surrogacy process.
